Rural Alternatives Center

EcoPartners' work with the village of El Limon needs an institutional and physical base. The result has been CAREL, the Centro Alternativo Rural El Limon. CAREL is in the process of incorporation, under a board of local residents. The organization has acquired a hillside in El Limon, and is constructing a classroom and office building using innovative ferrocement techniques. The design integrates traditional construction concepts with modern materials, and is resistant to earthquakes and hurricanes. We expect to move in during the coming year.
